Codiagro, an agronutrients company with headquarters in Vall d’Alba has obtained the Integrated Environmental Authorization (Autorización Ambiental Integrada).

Codiagro has managed to reach zero dumping, avoids atmospheric emissions and has a waste minimization plan.

Codiagro, a leading agronutrients maker has obtained the Integrated Environmental Authorization (Autorización Ambiental Integrada) given by the Regional Environmental Ministry. This authorization gives the company the permission to work on a whole installation or any of its parts  for  environmental and human health protection purposes. This installation has to obey some conditions to guarantee that it follows the aim and the regulations stated in the Integrated Prevention and Control of Pollution Act 16/2002 .

The company began to work in this project in 2005, but it wasn’t until 2006 that they applied for the Integrated Environmental Authorization (AAI) given by the Valencian Environmental Ministry providing the  environmental impact studies and the favorable urban planning report from Vall d’Alba council and all the documents needed to apply to the accreditation. At the same time, they opened new facilities in Vall d'Alba in April 2006.

The 7th June 2007 Codiagro obtained the AAI fulfilling the following requirements: control of atmospheric emissions, accomplishement of the limit values and report to the EPER registry as well as  an emissions audit made by an authorized company.An acoustic audit had to be done too. They had to stay within the established noise limits and control waste. Codiagro does not dump industrial waste water, only sewage. Finally, they have valued the company efforts to manage and control the  waste production by introducing a waste minimization program. In their new facilities they also conduct controls in order to avoid Legionellosis.

ACTIONS

In order to achieve all these goals, Codiagro has done a series of actions.
In order to reach a zero dumping of industrial waste water, it has a wastewater treatment plant that reuses water in the process. They have also installed different types of filters to avoid emissions to the atmosphere. There's also a waste minimization plan which includes every type of waste the plant generates.
